Today I learned an important lesson on how to get my Daily Value of fruits and vegetables, even though I don’t actually like anything green. YOR SuperGreens, a product offered by YOR Health website YORHealth.com, has 24 servings in a single scoop. The recommended intake is between 5 and 13 servings, depending on who you ask. YOR Health YOR SuperGreens taste pretty good, too. So, what I learned was that around 75% of adults don’t eat enough veggies and fruits. I’m not going to lie, I’m one of them.
Another product made to help people get their DVs is YOR Fiber Plus, released by YOR Health shortly after launching in 2008. One scoop has a good 20% of an adult’s needed amount of fiber. It also contains a blend of whole food fiber made of apple, bananas, and chicory root. I didn’t have a clue what chicory root was but, in summary, it’s a high-fiber root that contains polyphenols and has been studied as a diabetes treatment. YOR Health co-founder Dennis Wong says he adds his YOR Fiber Plus to YOR Shake.
In my research, I have read a lot about YOR Health supplements but I was also curious about the people behind the scenes. YOR Health has an entire board of scientists, doctors, and healthcare professionals who advise the entire YOR Health staff on how certain vitamins work with each other and within the body. One of the advisors, Patrick Okolo III, is one of the best doctors in the world – he is the Director of the Pancreatitis Center at Johns Hopkins.
There are several athletes who work closely with the company’s healthcare professionals. The YOR Health Athletic Advisory Board is full of some of the most well-known folks in sports today. Tim Brown, Daniel Jacobs, and Hattie Boydle, just to name a few. These are the ones who use the products in extreme conditions and let the YOR Health science guys know what works and what needs to be tweaked.
Siblings Dennis and Sophia Wong, YOR Health co-founders, got into the business as a way to help Dennis overcome his health problems. Now, the two act as YOR Health advocates who spend most of their time researching the most sustainable ways to maintain good health while helping people across the globe do the same.
